What is the formula for finding the area of a circle

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(A = \pi r^2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about circumference?

OpenStudy (amilapsn):

What's r? & ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think r is radius Half the distance of circle

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(C = d \pi\) Where d = diameter.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Or \(C = 2r \pi\)

OpenStudy (igreen):

Where r = radius. Hint: (2 times the Radius = Diameter)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My question is saying that the diameter is 6 what is the area. FIND THE EXACT ANSWER

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(A = \pi r^2\) The diameter is HALF the radius. Half of 6 is 3. \(A = (\pi) (3^2)\) \(A = (3.14)(9)\) \(A = 28.26\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you make the diameter a radius then multiply that to the 2nd power then multiply by pi?????
