why do signs at petrol stations warn people not to use cell phones while filling petrol in their cars?
because there is some kind of field(may be electric or magnetic) is generated due to cell phone and thus it ignites the gasoline(petrol) and creates bomb blasts. There has apparently been no research on this, and no recorded incidents related to the use of phones in petrol station. This is a historic bit of folklore and has no proven physical basis. (If oyu get blown up in a petrol station - don't blame me! :-)
