The main crop you see for miles around here is corn and almost everybody's first language is English. Place is something smaller, you would call things like club, shop and etc... a place. Region is like United States, Moscow, Madagascar, a city, neighborhood.
And this sentence refers to US. What do you choose? (sorry for late reply)
