OpenStudy (jgirl128):

limiting factors are things that prevent a population from growing any larger. an example could be squirrels. 15 squirrels may live in a habitat that has enough space and water to support 30 squirrels but if there's only enough food to feed 15 squirrels then the population won't grow any larger so food would be the limiting factor

OpenStudy (jgirl128):

but theres lots of limiting factors besides food. theres diseases, accidents (such as a car hitting an animal, etc), hunting, predators, etc
