Is the graph a function? If yes, is it linear? Explain why or what you would expect to see if it was. A graph shows the following points: A is two units right and eight units up from the origin. B is three units right and six units up from the origin. C is five units right and five units up from the origin. D is five units right and three units up from the origin. And E seven units right and one unit up from the origin.

Did you notice that for one of the x values, you have two y values?

For x =5, y = 3 and y=5. I thought a function could only have one value for a specific value of x

I thought so, can only be one unique value to be a function, that is not a function.

Since it is not a function you are not concerned about the second part.
