Oh your question was asked before xD Maybe try this for explanation? http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/51ca29c8e4b011c79f6279ea

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

the common ratio is 1/2

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I started dividing 768 by 2, and saw that you divide by 2 exactly 5 times to get to 24.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So 24 is 5th term. 24 × ½ = 12, 4th term 12 × ½ = 6, 3rd term 6 × ½ = 3, 2nd term 3 × ½ = 3/2, 1st term

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Makes sense ?
