Make a light color, like lightyellow for the border and for the background, because otherwise, it will be easy to tell that you have a white space between the boxes.
I have used some tricks to increase the space and make the box places higher....

the "d" I made, I put in in the same color as the background, so that it is invisible, but being that it is there, I will get a higher highlighting for a new line below the house, right?
Your d is visible though , and the color of the house is too dark, I can see the white holes.
