Will Fan and Medal for this simple question i don't understand :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How can x + 2 = -3x + 11 be set up as a system of equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no need to bribe a fan or medal...i'll make you understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha thanks a lot i was just trying to be nice not bribe but if you can help me understand it would be nice :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok pls repeat the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How can x + 2 = -3x + 11 be set up as a system of equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its very simple ...for setting up system of equations you need 2 variables ...is that understood?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it is as simple as writing x+2 =y -3x + 11 = y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, seriously?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You simply need to equate each expression to y so they both resemble a system of equations. Haha i feel so silly now. Thanks for the help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pretty silly idea though isn't it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you go to higher class ....you may get problems of forming system of equations for a sencond order differential equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry *second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, do you mean like initial value problems and such?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you can write a second order differential equations into two first order equations ...which would make the problems simpler

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok did you understand that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you
