without opening the link i know it is positive know why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once i open it we see that the discriminant is a perfect square

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is positive because the parabola crosses the x axis twice, meaning it has two zeros if a quadratic has two zeros the discriminant is positive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is a perfect square because the zeros are \(-4\) and \(2\) both rational numbers if the zeros are rational then the discriminant is a perfect square, like \(4\) or \(25\) or \(36\) (your answer)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhh that makes sense @satellite73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this looks like its crossing the x axis twice... and the options are.. A) -15 B) 0 C) 17 D) 25 so.. would it be 25? or am i completely wrong @satellite73
