Question

Can anybody help me plot this function in matlab? It is my solution to the shape a string has when hanged between to points. I wanna make sure it resemble something like a parabola but isn't one.

I think good starting values would be f(-3)=1 and f'(-3)=-3 and plotting the funtion on the interval x=[-3,3]
