help on quantitative and qualitative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I presume there are choices of data types? What data are you considering? Which do you think it is and why? Discuss!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a ta bracket

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tax

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is qualitative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because there are categories of incomes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i'm not sure if it is ordinal or nominal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is ordinal because the amount of money matters

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Sneak one. It is qualitative, if you use ONLY the name or some designation representing the name. If you start using the actual marginal tax rate for something, that might be a different story, Good. Tax brackets only go in one direction. I'd go with Ordinal. Order matters.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my next data is grade letter in algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is qualitative and ordinal as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because the letter matters

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Same thing. Once you translate your Grade to a Grade Point, in order to calculate a Grade Point Average, it switches to Quantitative.
