The football stadium at Martin Luther King Middle School has a seating capacity of 600.The stands were 1/3 empty at the first game. The homecoming game attracted enough people to fill 85% of the stands. At the last game there were 500 fans.Which game attracted the most fans?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 1 }{ 3 }(600)?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats the first equation to find out how many people filled the stadium the first game. The next equation to find out how many people were at the homecoming game make 85 into a decimal so divide 85 by 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(85\div100)\times600\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand?

@teamjay83

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah thanks @KLOwNLOve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're welcome :) which game brought the most fans?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the homecoming @KLOwNLOvE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright i don't like the word "think" when you come to an answer that makes me feel i didnt do my job teaching you did you do the equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i want you to be sure it's the right answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok im postive it was the Homecoming game because there were 510 fans and only 210 at the first game @KLOwNLOvE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your answer is right process is wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/3 of 600 is 200 and because 1/3 of the seats are empty you subtract 200 into 600 to find out how many people were there which is 400

OpenStudy (anonymous):

500 ppl were at the last game

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for home coming make 85% into a decimal (.85) and multiply by 600=510

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh @KLOwNLOvE makes sense
