I am stuck trying to solve an indeterminate limit, lim (x,y) -> (1,1) of (x^2 - y^2) / (x - y) , how do you solve these type of limits ?

OpenStudy (phi):

I would factor the numerator \[ \frac{(x+y)(x-y)}{(x-y) } \] as long as x≠y (though they are both allowed to approach as close to 1 as you like), we can simplify to (x+y), and that expression approaches 1+1= 2

Thank you phi.
