Is this a correct form of Parallelism? 2.1 Some athletes abuse steroids. 2.2 Some athletes believe they need steroids. 2.3 They believe steroids will help them bulk up. 2.4 They believe steroids will improve their athletic performance. Some athletes abuse steroids because they believe they need them to help bulk up and to improve their athletic performance.

Would this work better? Some athletes abuse steroids because they believe they are needed to help bulk up and to improve their athletic performance.

\(\normalsize\color{ slate }{\normalsize {\bbox[5pt, yellow ,border:2px solid red ]{ \rm Parallelism }}}\) means to be parallel/corrresponding, not self-contradictory. I would see why athelete abuse steroids, because if they stop working out and using (more and more) steroids (as they get used to them more and more) their bodies will start turning fat. All muscles will turn into fat and they will be abandoned people that no-one cares about. However, the reason is a contradictory, because body-improvement is a good thing (rather than a bad thing).
