A block of 500g slides down on a rough incline plane of inclination 53 with a uniform speed. Find the work done against the friction as the block slides through 2 m. I want to know why friction won't act

OpenStudy (anonymous):

friction does act.. that is why, the block is going down with uniform speed :) so net force on the object is ZERO.. that means, force due to gravity = force due to friction.. and we can do this in two ways.. .. using dynamics.. calculating frictional force, and then calculating the work done or using concept of energy.. which one u want? :P

i am doing work power energy , but got the logic thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool... do tell me what answer u end up with

i am getting 8 joules, is it right i don't have answers to check
