OpenStudy (magbak):

No matter what people say, every act of kindness is in fact purely selfish. Even large gifts to charity feel good to the giver. Whatever beneficial effects to others these gifts produce, it is the personal satisfaction that motivates them. However, this does not mean that charity does no good. On the contrary, selfishly motivated giving has done a lot of good in the world. Which word or phrase from the passage signals a contrasting thought? "No matter" "Whatever" "However" "On the contrary" @paki

@tkhunny

OpenStudy (magbak):

i think it is C

OpenStudy (magbak):

no or D

OpenStudy (magbak):

D is a better choice don't you think

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

It's "however", however lame the statement. There ARE altruistic motives. It is a travesty perpetrated against all humans to suggest there is no such thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it think it c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

"However" and "on the contrary" negate and present the same thing. Hard to pick.
