OpenStudy (joftheworld):

@SolomonZelman @tkhunny can you help me with rational expressions ?

OpenStudy (joftheworld):

\[\sqrt[6]{8a ^{6}b ^{9}c ^{12}}\] simplify expression..

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

what is that number to the right of the sqrt sign??

OpenStudy (joftheworld):

6th root

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

oh ok let me see.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

\(\sqrt[6]{a^{6}} = |a|\) unless you have been told that a > 0, then \(\sqrt[6]{a^{6}} = a\)

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

i think the ansswer to that is \[abc^2 \sqrt[6]{8b^3}\]

OpenStudy (joftheworld):

i cant have the 6th root in the answer.. and i need help finding it out..

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yes @Ibbutibbu. i think your answer is right

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@joftheworld so than you not can have the 6th root in the answer so than you need using fractional exponents

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

ok ?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I would recommend \(abc^{2}\sqrt{2b}\). I still want to know if we are to assume everything is positive.
