Adding rotation vectors
|dw:1408309102168:dw| So imagine these are the two rotation axes and they are obeying the right hand rule. If I twist along the main axis of they cylinder, it'll start rotating regularly. Then while it's rotating like that I want the other axis drawn to rotate as well, so it's really rotating around two axes at once. However if you were to just simply add these vectors you'd get some kind of diagonal vector and the thing would look like it was wobbling.
|dw:1408309307536:dw| See how if you added the two vectors, they don't really seem to add correctly? Maybe I should draw a better picture... |dw:1408309394658:dw| So in this picture it's like I turned a drill on and then I turned the drill while holding it along that axis. You could imagine just holding a drill, turning it on and pointing it away from your body, then turning in a circle while it's on. How do we describe that rotation vector? Ok this is making me dizzy.
