Kathryn's Custom Kitchen Supplies sells handmade forks and spoons. It costs the store $1.70 to buy the supplies to make a fork and $1.30 to buy the supplies to make a spoon. The store sells forks for $5.60 and spoons for $5.40. Last April Kathryn's Custom Kitchen Supplies spent $37.90 on materials for forks and spoons. They sold the finished products for a total of $147.20. How many forks and how many spoons did they make last April?

Any idea?

OpenStudy (mitu12):

nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huhuhu!! ok, now, spending first (I mean they spent money to buy material) Let f is the number of fork (f stands for fork) and s is the number of spoon (s stands for spoon) So that, they spent total 37.90 to buy material to make the tools. we can write down the equation: 1.70*f +1.30*s = 37.90 ( the first equation) Got me so far??

OpenStudy (mitu12):

yes im sorry but we werent supposed to do this one

Not finish yet, just part 1. But I have to make sure that you get the logic first. You must know where the equations come from and how to solve them to get the answer.

OpenStudy (mitu12):

i mean that this is the wrong question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so close it . hihihi.
