if a workman recieves time and a half for overtime, 25 hours of overtime would be the equicalent of how many regular working hours?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He gets 1.5 hours for every hour he works overtime. He works 25, so 1.5times1=one hour of overtime, so 1.5times25=25 hours of overtime.

so i try using a poportion for this question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can. I'd think of it as, for every hour you work overtime you'd make 1.5 times as much money. So \[1.5\times25=37.5\]So you'd have to work 37.5hours of regular time to equal 25 hours of overtime.
