so...splitting middle term for this problem 5x^2-7x-6 answer would be (x-2) (5x+3) correct? Again...calculator says incorrect??

No, when you multiply this back out you get 5x^2 + 3x - 7x -6 5x^2 -4x -6

So, that's not quite right.

Since a and c are 5 and -6, you need two numbers that multiply to get -30.

And since b is -7, those same two numbers need to add to get -7.
