what is the definition of a state?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Please don't ask this question it can men many things... try to be more clear. For example This is a bad way to `state` something. Georgia is a `state`.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

It can be either a verb or a noun that mean totally different things.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government.

OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):

"A state" obviously means that they're talking about a noun @SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

well, reading it 'a state' it is likely a noun, but I often times see that people ask a definition of a `verb`.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you @avalonmay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem :)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Also, I thought that to do define state? it is a bit easy.... so I picked on a verb (which is not that hard either)

OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):

Well, the context was fairly relevant to what @avalonmay said, seeing as this is history.
