Graphing absolute value parent function

The absolute value function means taking a value and seeing how far away it is from zero (basically, take away the negative sign if there is one) So, for y=abs(x), make a chart X | Y 0 0 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 -1 1 -2 2 -3 3 -4 4 -5 5 You can then plot these points on a graph, and you'll see that it's a v shape, with the point at the origin, and lines extending out at a 45 degree angle with the x axis in both directions
