The absolute value function means taking a value and seeing how far away it is from zero (basically, take away the negative sign if there is one)
So, for y=abs(x), make a chart

You can then plot these points on a graph, and you'll see that it's a v shape, with the point at the origin, and lines extending out at a 45 degree angle with the x axis in both directions
