A public park is in the shape of a triangle. The side of the park that forms the base of the triangle is 200 yards long and the area of the park is 7500 yd^2. What is the length of the side of the park that forms the height of the triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the area of a triangle is 1/2(Base times Height)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

start with filling in what you know 7500=1/2(200*h)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now divide both sides by 1/2 and what do you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your equation will then look like this 15000=200*h than you will again divide both sides by 200 to get the height by it self so h=75

Thank you so much!
