The sum of two numbers is 48. If the larger number is 6 less than twice the smaller number, find the two numbers. Please help!! thanks :)

a + b = 48, let b is the larger number then b=2a-6 a + 2a -6 = 48 =>3a = 54 => 18 , so smaller number = 18, then larger number => 2*18 - 6 => b = 30
