How can an increase in biodiversity lead to an increase in ecosystem stability?

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

Biodiversity : The variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem. So an increase in wild life ? That's a good thing. The more biodiversity an ecosystem has, the more stable it will be for plants and animals, and cleaner air. ;-))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what would it be out of these a. A more biodiverse ecosystem is not subject to change. b. A more biodiverse ecosystem has a higher chance of adapting to species changes. c. A more biodiverse ecosystem has fewer species types to balance. d. A more biodiverse ecosystem is subject to fewer natural disasters.

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

Alright, so use your knowledge from the biodiversity definition,

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

then, lets cross off A, because it just doesn't fit,

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

And then cross off D,

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

What would you choose now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

Yep! Nice job!

thanks
