What is the equation of the graph below?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = - (x + 2)2 + 2 y = - (x - 3)2 + 2 y = (x - 2)2 + 2 y = (x + 3)2 + 2

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

you can eliminate the last 2 options as the graph is facing down meaning that the x^2 is negative not positive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you. thats a start

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

now do you know where the vertex is?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

can you identify the vertex...? if you can the general from is \[y = (x - h)^2 + k\] where (h, k) is the vertex

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok well then it has to be the first option

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

well look again

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well not quite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for all your help!! :D

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

the vertex is at 3,2 so it leaves the second option

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh darn well ok thanks you guys!
