undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

5x + 23 = − 2x − 12

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Is this how you do it? Add 2x, then subtract 23, lastly divide by - 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no divide by 7 that 7 isnt a negative

OpenStudy (abhisar):

5x+2x=-23-12

OpenStudy (abhisar):

7x=-35

OpenStudy (abhisar):

x=-5

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Got it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

firstly u transpose the x terms and contants to on and another side to make it like term

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

That is what i thought. But the choices i have are: Subtract 2x, then add −23, lastly divide by 7 Subtract 5x, then add12, lastly divide by 7 Subtract 5x, then add 12, lastly divide by −7 Add 2x, then subtract 23, lastly divide by - 7

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Last one

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (abhisar):

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @undeadknight26 5x + 23 = − 2x − 12 \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) STEP 1 Add 2x => 7x +23 = -12 STEP 2 Subtract 23 => 7x=-35 STEP 3 DIVIDE by -7 =>-x=5

OpenStudy (abhisar):

So the answer will be second last one !\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @undeadknight26 5x + 23 = − 2x − 12 \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) STEP 1 23=-7x -12 STEP 2 35=-7x STEP 3 x=5

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Got it ?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Yes sir!

OpenStudy (abhisar):
