Evaluate f(g(x))? f(x) = 4x – 7 g(x) = -2x + 6

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Substituting in the equations?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now this is what i got for the problem, take the -2x+6 and plug that for the x of 4x-7 it will look like 4(-2x+6)-7. The next step is to distribute the 4 to get -8x+24-7 subtract 7 from 24 to get 17. So far it should look like -8x+17 (unsure if i took the right steps leading up to this)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-8x+17 Is this right? @Couchpotato7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From what i remember, and calculated.. that is what i got now i don't know if you need to do more steps or if that is just it.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

yes, that is correct :)

Okay thanks!
