Love has come,
Love is near,
My world has spun,
It has shifted gears,

Maybe I should run,
I am shedding tears,
Please do not come,
I don’t want you here,

You were as sweet as a plum,
But now I see it crystal clear,
You act like you’re dumb,
This is the last frontier,

Someone should shun,
Your Pitiful sneers,
I will not succumb,
It is my greatest fear,

You don’t see what you’ve become,
You struck my heart with a spear,
You're a big scum,
It has been everything besides a great year...

It is one of the many ways. It may or may not be what you want to express. Sometimes, it can restrict your ability since you have an arbitrarily limited vocabulary of rhyming words. In your example, I found "slum", "scum", and "spear" a little awkward. The poem should be from you. If the rhyming convention forces you to sound like someone else, have you accomplished your goal? You may wish to write complete thoughts and complete sentences and see how various rephrasings and reformatting enhance the presentation or make it more real.
