2m-nx=x+4 for x

OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):

\(\large 2\times 2-(-1\times x)=x+4\) Give me any random number and it'll fit this equation.. All real numbers \((\mathbb{R})\).

OpenStudy (aum):

2m - nx = x + 4 To solve for x group the x terms to one side of the equation and the rest on the other side. Add nx to both sides: 2m = nx + x + 4 subtract 4 2m - 4 = nx + x 2(m - 2) = x(n + 1) divide both sides by (n+1) 2(m-2) / (n+1) = x or \(\Large x = \frac{2(m-2)}{ (n+1) } \)
