Thomas bought 4 shirts from a store. The price of each shirt was the same. After he bought the shirts, his account balance showed a change of −$89.08. What would have been the change to Thomas's account balance had he only bought 1 shirt from the store? $22.27 −$22.27 $22.45 −$22.45

help pls

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I would assume that he didn't have a previous balance at the store, so 89.08 is the price of the 4 shirts he just bought.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Does that sound reasonable to you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i would divide to get he answer

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

You would divide. :)

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

What do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

22.7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JoannaBlackwelder

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

That is the price of each shirt.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

So, what would his balance be if he bought 1 shirt?

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

But didn't pay for it yet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-22.7

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

You got it :)
