i dont understand your question @robtobey

OpenStudy (triciaal):

one method using equation 1 write c = using equation 3 write a = substituting for a and c in equation 2 solve for b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats a bit confusing to me.. could you give me an example or help me work through this problem??

OpenStudy (triciaal):

what is the first equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Add the 2nd and 3rd equations together and the 2c will subtract out. Add twice the 1st equation to the 2nd equation and the 2c will subtract out. You now have two equations in a and b.
