I have a question about my Spanish homework. When it say to write three sentences about a friend and use the "él or ella" (he/she) form. Do I have to use the "él or ella" in the sentence or can I use a person name?
well I think you would do el or ella then there name ella jenny or el Derek
Ella come helados or Jenny come helados is the same. El corre en el parque or Derek corre en el parque is the same too. When you have more fluency in Spanish you use only the verb conjugated for this person, for example: Comía helado mientras hablaba conmigo. (ella comía helado). In this case if you are writing a paragraph you need to explain more about who is doing the action.
You cannot use the name as the point is to practice using pronouns. I don't believe you have to elaborate with proper names either since it's only 3 sentences.
