A semicolon is used to separate two independent clauses. An independent clause is a statement that can stand alone as a sentence. For example: This banana looks funny ; maybe it is mutated. This banana looks funny. Maybe it is mutated. These independent clauses/sentences all contain their respective adjectives, nouns and subjects therefore they are both correct sentences and independent clauses thus they can be used along with a semicolon. Hopefully this gave you some insight and this can help you answer your question. If you're still having trouble, post a reply here and/or msg me. @amandakrimmer1
