Is it worth it to become a realtor? I've read a lot about it, and it seems you have to take a lot of risks with money just to even get started, // i hope i didn't post this in the wrong place
Being a Realtor is no different than any other small business. Some people become very successful and some barely make a living. If you have had marketing background or experience in dealing with people your chances are better. The timing is not good – many Realtor's have no clients. To become a Realtor will cost you around $1,000 and you need other means of support for about six months or a year (before you sell something). Once you have your license it is very easy to get hired. But your employer (Broker) will do very little for you (in spite of advertising slogans). Except for occasional advice you are on your own.
