This one really depends on where you are in the Novel. What did Old Major represent in the story? What was his role amongst the animals on the farm? What was Napoleon doing at this time? Look at what Napoleon wanted - or was trying to accomplish. "All animals are equal" - but what is added after that - and how does that affect the "hope" for the animals on the farm?
