if someone asks their question in the wrong place...shutting it down seems rude, just advice the person and direct them politely...for crying out loud

I agree. A basic rule of thumb with me: If someone asks a question in the wrong section, answer their question, and at the end, direct them to the proper section.

honestly, i had no idea...i sat waiting for a response only to discover my qusetion was closed...and no notice even!!! soo rude and heart breaking, i almost cried
