got this weird question on my ap bio homework, any help decoding this nonsense would be much appreciated: "How could Winter kill of fish in Northern NY oxygen depletion occur?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how could winter kill a fish in northern NY if oxygen depletion occurs? Answer: without a certain amount of oxygen a fish can't live even though they live underwater and die on land they still need to breath air.

A "winter kill" is an actual thing, it is when due to conditions in winter deplete a body of water of its dissolved oxygen. So what Meloche meant was "How could a Winter kill in Northern NY cause oxygen depletion?" From there, just mention conditions in winter that would cause oxygen depletion to occur
