Write and solve an equation. The length of a room is 4m greater than the width. The perimeter of the room is 28m. Find the width

Introduce a variable, for example, x. We can give this variable to be either the width or the length of the room, it doesn't matter which. Let's just say it's the width. If the length is 4m more than the width, and the width = x, then the length would be x+4, right? Now we know that the perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of its sides, or 2 times the width plus 2 times the length. Try and form an equation using this information, and then make it equal to 28 (because we're given that as our perimeter). Try and see if you can solve for x after forming your equation.
