What is the mass of phosphorus in a 43-kg person? The mass of phosphorus is 0.78kg
Is that a question then an answer? What is it that you need help with?
I think you need to know the percent phosphorous (by mass) of the person.
No the question is what is the mass of phosphorus in a 43-kg person and then there's a diagram that says phosphorus is 0.78 kg so I don't know @JoannaBlackwelder
Hmm, can you post the diagram by chance?
It's this one @JoannaBlackwelder
Oh, ok. We are given the mass of phosphorous in a 70kg person. That would not be the same mass as in a 43kg person, but it would be the same percent!
Can you find the percent of phosphorous in the 70 kg person?
Yeah I did that and got 0.0111... but that's not the correct answer
That's not the answer though. That's just an intermediary step. :)
Now that you have found the fraction of phosphorous in the body, you can multiply it be the mass of the 43 kg person to find the mass of phosphorous in his body.

I did that and got 20.6 but it's still not it
That's not what I got.
0.011428...*43=0.47914...
Or 0.48 kg rounded to 2 sig figs
Ahh that's right I was doing it wrong the whole time smh! Lo thanks so much (:
No worries :)
