Describe two methods for converting a mixed number to a decimal

OpenStudy (aum):

1) Convert the mixed number to a fraction. Divide the numerator by the denominator to get the decimal value. Example: \(\large 2\frac 12 = \frac 52 = 2.5\) 2) Convert just the fractional part of the mixed number to decimal by dividing and then add the integer part. Example: \(\large 2\frac 12 = 2 + \frac 12 = 2 + 0.5 = 2.5\)
