the action or process of fertilizing an egg, female animal, or plant, involving the fusion of male and female gametes to form a zygote

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This type of reproduction enable organisms to reproduce without a mate. It does not require the time and energy that takes to search a mate. It results in the reproduction of large number of offspring rapidly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In this type of reproduction the offspring produced are genetically identical to each other and to the parent. This causes no or very little genetic variation within a population. Any mutation in the parent cell, can cause harmful effects on the survival ability of the offspring.

just answer the question in the blank all this stuff i cant open

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rewrite that that is the answer adv and disv reproduction part the first is the there are 2 or 3 adv and the 2nd one has disv as 3 disv.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the one that start off as action is the definesion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one below is the 2 type adv, and one below that is the disv.

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

It would be better if you post each and every question in a separate thread..!!!

ok

what is fertilization? the action or process of fertilizing an egg, female animal, or plant, involving the fusion of male and female gametes to form a zygote

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

1. Budding is a form of asexual reproduction in which a new organism develops from an outgrowth or bud due to cell division at one particular site. The new organism remains attached as it grows, separating from the parent organism only when it is mature, leaving behind scar tissue. Since the reproduction is asexual, the newly created organism is a clone and is genetically identical to the parent organism.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

List two advantages of asexual reproduction: This type of reproduction enable organisms to reproduce without a mate. It does not require the time and energy that takes to search a mate. It results in the reproduction of large number of offspring rapidly.

List two disadvantages of asexual reproduction: n this type of reproduction the offspring produced are genetically identical to each other and to the parent. This causes no or very little genetic variation within a population. Any mutation in the parent cell, can cause harmful effects on the survival ability of the offspring.

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

2. Fertilization- is the fusion of gametes to initiate the development of a new individual organism. In animals, the process involves the fusion of an ovum with a sperm, which eventually leads to the development of an embryo. Depending on the animal species, the process can occur within the body of the female in internal fertilisation, or outside (external fertilisation). The cycle of fertilisation and development of new individuals is called sexual reproduction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

List two advantages and disadvantages of sexual reproduction: Animals that are confined to one particular place and unable to look for a mate reproduce asexually. Stable environments with very little change are favorable for organisms to reproduce asexually. andAny mutation in the parent cell, can cause harmful effects on the survival ability of the offspring. If there is harmful mutation in the organisms, environment changes could be deadly to all the individuals. Asexual Reproduction in AnimalsBack to Top
