OpenStudy (triciaal):

[2.2 - 0.5x] = 3 2 equations when using absolute value -(2.2-5x) = 3 and 2.2 - 0.5x = 3 -2.2-5x = 3 -0.5 x = 3-2.2 -5 x = 3 + 2.2 x = 0.8/-0.5 x = 5.2/-5 x = -1.6 x = -1.04 using the positive value x = -1.6 to check left hand side 2.2 - 0.5(-1.6) = 2.2 + 0.8 = 3.0 = R.H.S.

OpenStudy (triciaal):

1-3x/7 = 2/3 using the positive value multiply by the LCD 21 same as cross-multiply 3(1 - 3x) = 7*2 x = (14 - 3)/-9 = and x = 17/9
