The circle graph above shows how David’s monthly expenses are divided. If David spends 450 dollars per month for food, how much does he spend per month on his car? Circle Graph says= Rent and Utilities: 35% Food: 25% Car: 25% Other: 15% Clothing: 5% I know that the answer is $360 but how? Please explain. I've seen the process but it isn't sticking within my mind.
Check the percentage numbers again because they are not adding up to 100%.
I think car should be 20% and not 25%.
Circle Graph says= Rent and Utilities: 35% Food: 25% Car: 20% Other: 15% Clothing: 5% You are correct, my apologies.
This is a proportions problem. Food is 25% and it represents $450. Car is 20% and what does it represent? Assume it represents x. Then because of direct proportions: 20 / 25 = x / 450 Solve for x.
Can I do bat and ball?
Not sure what you mean.
when you cross multiple then divide by the number that's across from x...which then becomes x
