OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it true that gamma rays have the longest wavelength on the electromagnetic spectrum?

OpenStudy (alistairgarratt):

Think about energy...the higher the energy, the shorter the wavelength (imagine the peaks and troughs of a wave propagating in water...the more often you splash (energy per second) the higher the frequency and the shorter the distance (wavelength). Velocity of a wave = wavelength multiplied by frequency. Are gamma rays of low or high energy?

OpenStudy (alistairgarratt):

There is also another equation involving Planck's constant: Energy of a photon of light equals Planck's constant multiplied by frequency. How does one determine wavelength corresponding to a particular frequency of light? c (speed of light in m/s) = frequency (per second) multiplied by wavelength (meters).
