The answer is C because in my biology textbook it said it is the classification of species based on their natural relationships.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

taxonomy is to define the shared characteristics of organisms and group them together by giving them names of the groups. they will be put into taxa (singular: taxon) and given a taxonomic rank. the grouping of species can result in a taxonomic hierarchy (the picture) http://www.charlesayoub.com/life-style/public/uploads/images/70399196818470956.jpg
