Hermes is a god of transitions and boundaries. He is quick and cunning, and moved freely between the worlds of the mortal and divine, as emissary and messenger of the gods. 

Hermes was a messenger of the Gods, delivering messages at light speed.

Right, be we are specifically referencing Hermes. Hermes is his name in the Ancient Greek religion, so he stays belonging to the Ancient Greek religion.
