I WILL GIVE A MEDAL What are the organ systems of a jellyfish? Please help, I need a list of them and I can't seem to find them.

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

Good morning. Happy Burger Day. I do know jellyfishes have a Nervous System, but that is about all I know. Now, I did find this article of the anatomy of jellyfish stating that "Most jellyfish do not have specialized digestive, osmoregulatory, central nervous, respiratory, or circulatory systems." The reason they don't have these systems is because they have other things that can help them. For example, jellyfish have something called a manubrium. To us, this is called a sternum. Anyways, in a jellyfish, this is a structure hanfinf down from the center of their underside, with a mouth at its tip. So this is where digestion takes place and nutrients are absorbed. Also, jellyfish don't need a respiratory system since their skin is very thin, causing the body to be oxygenated by diffusion. Anyways, maybe I'll conduct more research to see if I can find maybe all the organ systems of this marine animal.

Haha good morning. Happy Burger Day? Anyway thank you so much :), you were much of help!!

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

Today is Burger Day and Tug-Of-War day. ;) And a you're very welcome.

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

I found this article that states that jellyfish don't have any actual organs or bones. https://www.jellyfishart.com/kb/jellyfish-biology/jellyfish-anatomy Maybe this question was a trick question...

Ha well I had no idea, it was just another Wednesday to me lol. Ok I'll look into more. If its confusing I'll just change my animal cuz I'm supposed to write an essay on an animal a tell a little bit about them and list all thier organ systems and then pick one to describe in detail. Do you know any animals that would be easier?

@hugsnotughs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know anything @jessyv

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

Well, jellyfish are pretty simple, and by the looks of it they don't have any organs or organ systems. I think it might be fine, if your teacher is okay with it. Since there is not so much to talk about the organs of a jellyfish, you can talk about the structure or the functions of the jellyfish and other things like the diet and stuff. If you really do want an animal that does have organ systems, then maybe think of your favorite pet. A dog, cat, or fish. I am not sure if they would be easy to study, but it is always fun to learn something about something you like. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh what a coincidence i was checking out the facts of box jellyfish, they have central nervous system, just like the humans

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but ya not much to talk about cus they dont really have major organs well if u count eyes then box jellies have 24 eyes :D and actually scientists still dont know much about their body mechanism

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thank you both :) @hugsnotughs and @jessyv. You both were helpful, but I'm sorry is there anything else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok nvm that question :) @hugsnotughs and @jessyv

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Eww and 24 eye XP lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

indeed :D must be so fun processing 360* visions and glad that we could help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha right :P, yes and thank you again :))
