Sarah bought a shirt that was 1/5 off the regular price. Which decimal number does the fraction represent?

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

Step 1: make 1/5 into x/100 by multiplying both the numerator and denominator by a certain number. the number you use must make the denominator into the other denominator.

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

for example, 1/10 is also 10/100

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

um...just divide....1 divided by 5 = 0.2...or if you do not have a calc, just do it like Dbzfan said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have a calc i just dont know how to calculate it

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

@texaschic101 you cannot just give answers

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

you could get suspended

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):

so what times 5 equals 100?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

click 1....click divide...click 5....click equals....and you should get the answer. I explain everything I do and how I do it. If there is any questions about what I do, I urge the asker to ask. I know about the suspension for giving answers.

OpenStudy (dbzfan836):
